Baseball Recap: South Central Wins Going Away Against Clarksville

South Central won the last time they faced Clarksville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rebels put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 13-6 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Jarrett Ferree made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. South Central is 2-1 when Ferree allows two or fewer hits, but 3-7 otherwise. Ferree was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Ferree wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Thomasson, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Thomasson is becoming a predictor of South Central's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Landen Sutherland also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

South Central's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Clarksville, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, South Central will challenge Crothersville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Clarksville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
