Willow Glen had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Westmont Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-2 on Wednesday.

Nolan Wirtz looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Willow Glen got a massive performance out of Ray Walsh, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Walsh a new career-high. Kaiden Pan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Willow Glen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Willow Glen pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Westmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-21-1.

Coming up, Willow Glen will be playing in front of their home fans against Monte Vista Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. Westmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
