Basketball Recap: Black River Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Keystone, Black River was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 61-48 victory over the Clearview Clippers. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 83-56 win the Clippers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Zane Bungard had an outrageously good game as he shot 50% from the field on his way to 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zane Kristophel, who went 5-for-7 en route to 12 points and five boards.

The victory got Black River back to even at 1-1. As for Clearview, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Black River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-40 win against Wellington on the 12th. As for Clearview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-45 defeat against Keystone on the 12th.
