Football Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin and Venice squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Franklin had to settle for second. They were dealt a 35-8 loss at the hands of the Gondoliers. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Franklin's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Venice, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Venice, they will face off against Marquez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Gondoliers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
