Basketball Recap: East Duplin Extends Winning Streak to Ten

East Duplin entered their tilt with South Lenoir on Thursday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They really took it to the South Lenoir Blue Devils for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-14 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Duplin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kinsey Cave, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Cave a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carrie Carr, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

East Duplin pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.7 points over those games. As for South Lenoir, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season.

East Duplin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-37 win against James Kenan on the 7th. As for South Lenoir, they will take on North Lenoir at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Lenoir is facing North Lenoir at the right time seeing as North Lenoir is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
