Sherwood is a perfect 10-0 against Glencoe since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bowmen will face off against the Crimson Tide at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sherwood has six straight victories, Glencoe has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Sherwood was able to grind out a solid win over Newberg, taking the game 7-3.

Connor Parry made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Landon Brown was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Hunt, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Glencoe fell victim to South Salem and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Saxons, falling 8-0.

Sherwood's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Glencoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Sherwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Glencoe when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bowmen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
