Soccer Game Preview: Saint Viator vs. Carmel

The Saint Viator Lions will head out to take on the Carmel Corsairs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Thursday, neither Saint Viator nor Niles North could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Carmel entered their game against Glenbrook North on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Corsairs came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Carmel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Glenbrook North are ranked eighth).

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-2. Saint Viator's draw makes their record 8-8-2 this season.

Saint Viator beat Carmel by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
