Basketball Game Preview: Elkmont Red Devils vs. Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors

The Elkmont Red Devils will head out to take on the Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Elkmont took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 58-40 victory over Brindlee Mountain. The Red Devils pushed the score to 45-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Whitesburg Christian Academy got the win against Asbury on Saturday by a conclusive 43-23. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Whitesburg Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Elkmont, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

Elkmont came up short against Whitesburg Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 53-43. Can Elkmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
