Basketball Recap: Floyd Comes Up Short

Floyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 37-18 to the Elida Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-7 back in January.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Maria Garcia-Chavez and Klowie Bustamante, who each put up five points.

Floyd's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Elida, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Floyd will head out on the road to face off against Gateway Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elida has already played their next contest (against Fort Sumner/House), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
