Volleyball Game Preview: Wheatland Pirates vs. Sonora Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Wheatland Pirates will take on the Sonora Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wheatland is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Wheatland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over River Islands.

Wheatland got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 18-25, 30-28, 25-17.

Wheatland found their leader in sophomore Addison Gaylord, who had 19 digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Sonora made easy work of Venture Academy on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-4, 25-16, 25-8.

Wheatland's record now sits at 14-8. As for Sonora, their record is now 17-5.

Wheatland might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Sonora when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
