Recap: Solebury Spartans vs. Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride
The Solebury Spartans pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 76-55 loss at the hands of Cristo Rey Philadelphia. Solebury has not had much luck with Cristo Rey Philadelphia recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joell Idrovo, who scored 16 points. Idrovo scored a full 29.1% of Solebury's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Mercurius, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Solebury now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Cristo Rey Philadelphia, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Solebury won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against New Foundations at 4:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Cristo Rey Philadelphia, they will square off against Math Civics & Sciences at TBD on Sunday.
