Basketball Recap: Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool lost against State Line HomeSchool R back in March of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks came up short against the State Line HomeSchool R Rush, falling 59-39. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 384th in Florida, while the Rush are ranked 178th in Virginia).

When it comes to explaining why Families Instructing Students HomeSchool lost, don't look at Melody Lee. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. Lee is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makayla Calzada, who posted seven points.

It was another big night for Aden Clark, who almost dropped a double-double with 31 points and nine assists for State Line HomeSchool R. That makes it five consecutive games in which Clark has scored at least a third of State Line HomeSchool R's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Esther Bennett, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool and nudges their season record down to 13-11. As for State Line HomeSchool R, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
