Basketball Game Preview: East Hamilton Hurricanes vs. Rhea County Golden Eagles

The East Hamilton Hurricanes and the Rhea County Golden Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. East Hamilton will be strutting in after a win while Rhea County will be coming in after a defeat.

East Hamilton saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They strolled past Sale Creek with points to spare, taking the game 47-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricanes.

East Hamilton found their leader in sophomore Kailey Hilvers, who posted 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for Hilvers. Etaliah Laboo was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Rhea County came up short against Northwest Whitfield on Thursday and fell 62-54.

East Hamilton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points per game. As for Rhea County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

East Hamilton came out on top in a nail-biter against Rhea County in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 52-50. Will East Hamilton repeat their success, or does Rhea County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
