Preview: Winslow Bulldogs vs. Alchesay Falcons
The Winslow Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Alchesay Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Winslow will be strutting in after a victory while Alchesay will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Winslow was able to grind out a solid win over Payson, taking the game 48-39.
Winslow's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaci Gonnie, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jauslyn Nells, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Alchesay pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monument Valley. Alchesay has struggled against Monument Valley recently, as their match on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Winslow's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-18. As for Alchesay, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.
Winslow might still be hurting after the 56-32 defeat they got from Alchesay in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Winslow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
