Basketball Game Preview: Winnsboro Raiders vs. Rains Wildcats

Winnsboro hasn't had much luck against Rains recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Winnsboro Raiders will head out to challenge the Rains Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Winnsboro is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 68 points on Saturday, they were much more limited against Lone Oak on Tuesday. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffaloes. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Rains' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Community 62-56.

Winnsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Rains, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Winnsboro came up short against Rains when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 76-72. Can Winnsboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
