Volleyball Recap: Coronado Wins Going Away Against Americas

Coronado lost to Americas back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trail Blazers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunderbirds.

One reason for the win was Coronado's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Americas had strong showings from Sole' Sebree, who had six digs and two aces, and Sydney Avila, who had 16 digs and two assists. Avila is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Analee Wilson also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Coronado's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Americas, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Coming up, Coronado will take on Lovejoy in a tournament on Thursday. As for Americas, they will be taking part in a tournament against Connally at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.
