Football Game Preview: Shelton vs. Gig Harbor

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Shelton should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on Gig Harbor at 7:00 PM. Shelton come in off of five low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the squad is obviously eager to reverse.

Things haven't been easy for Shelton, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to six. They took a serious blow against Timberline last Friday, falling 0-42. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 50 points the game before, Gig Harbor faltered in their game last Friday. They suffered a grim 7-34 defeat to Capital. Gig Harbor were down by 7-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
