Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Christian Academy lost against Highlands Latin back in February of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cornerstone Christian Academy Bulldogs took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlands Latin Highlanders.

Despite the loss, Cornerstone Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Abby Brothers dropped a double-double on 21 points and 22 boards. That was a full 67.7% of Cornerstone Christian Academy's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Georgia Webb was another key player, putting up no points and seven steals.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

The future could be bright for both Cornerstone Christian Academy and Highlands Latin: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Cornerstone Christian Academy will try to hand Fort Knox their 11th-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Highlands Latin will look to extend Boone County's ten-game losing streak when the meet on Saturday.
