Colbert County's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Florence Falcons an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Makayli Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colbert County will head out to take on Red Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Florence, they will head out on the road to face off against Haleyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
