Colbert County's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Florence Falcons an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Makayli Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 matchups.

In other batting news, Mallory Gargis was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 13 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallie Holland, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Colbert County lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florence didn't launched any home runs.

Colbert County now has a winning record of 15-14-1. As for Florence, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colbert County will head out to take on Red Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Florence, they will head out on the road to face off against Haleyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
