East Rockingham had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against the Waynesboro Little Giants by the margin of a single free throw, 60-59. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Little Giants are ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Rockingham's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Waynesboro, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

East Rockingham won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harrisonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Harrisonburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Waynesboro, they will square off against Fort Defiance at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Waynesboro is facing Fort Defiance at the right time seeing as Fort Defiance is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
