Basketball Recap: Meigs County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Bleu Armour and Jaxon Hope

Meigs County played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 74-50 to the Roane County Yellowjackets. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Meigs County had strong showings from Jaxon Hope, who posted 11 points, and Bleu Armour, who earned 12 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Hope a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Malone, who put up four points and five rebounds.

Aaron Layne was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 15 boards for Roane County. With that strong performance, Layne is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Malachi Brown was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Meigs County's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Roane County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
