Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Bulldogs vs. White Castle Bulldogs

Springfield will square off against White Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. White Castle took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Springfield, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Springfield got the win against Bogalusa by a conclusive 12-2. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Will Sanders was a standout: he scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colt Lirette, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, White Castle came up short against False River on Wednesday and fell 12-9.

The victory made it two in a row for Springfield and bumps their season record up to 14-17. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for White Castle, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Everything went Springfield's way against White Castle in their previous meeting back in February of 2016, as Springfield made off with a 21-3 victory. Does Springfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will White Castle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
