Recap: Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars vs. Stuart Broncos
The Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 63-34 defeat at the hands of Stuart. Niobrara/Verdigre has not had much luck with Stuart recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Stuart found their leader in underclassman Kayde Ramm, who scored 13 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavynn Mustin, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Niobrara/Verdigre's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Stuart, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Niobrara/Verdigre will be playing at home against Elgin/Pope John on Friday. Stuart won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Central Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
