Basketball Game Preview: St. Johns Redwings vs. Lowell Red Arrows

After both having extra time off, the St. Johns Redwings and the Lowell Red Arrows will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, St. Johns lost to Mason at home by a 64-48 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Redwings in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Lowell was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-47 heartbreaker at the hands of DeWitt. While losing is never fun, the Red Arrows can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Panthers are ranked 67th).

St. Johns' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Lowell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
