Recap: Glenwood Springs Demons vs. Resurrection Christian Cougars

The Glenwood Springs Demons's 17-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 48-47 to Resurrection Christian. Glenwood Springs has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Demons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sim Wenger, who scored 16 points. The matchup was Wenger's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Argeny Renteria, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Resurrection Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Yoder out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Phillips, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Glenwood Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Resurrection Christian, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Glenwood Springs won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Campbell County at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Campbell County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. Resurrection Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. East is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
