Soccer Game Preview: Hume-Fogg vs. Green Hill

The Hume-Fogg Blue Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Green Hill Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hume-Fogg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Hume-Fogg is headed into the contest having not lost since March 27 and will look to keep things rolling. Neither they nor Summit could gain the upper hand on Monday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Hume-Fogg's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Simon Brown was the only thing that stood between Hume-Fogg and a shutout considering he scored both of Hume-Fogg's goals, bringing his season total up to nine goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Green Hill was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They lost 4-1 to Rockvale. While losing is never fun, Green Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Rockvale are ranked 26th).

Hume-Fogg's draw gives them a new season record of 9-3-3. As for Green Hill, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Hume-Fogg skirted past Green Hill 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will the Blue Knights repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
