Basketball Game Preview: Northwood Temple Academy Eagles vs. The O'Neal School Falcons

Northwood Temple Academy hasn't had much luck against The O'Neal School recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Northwood Temple Academy Eagles take on the The O'Neal School Falcons at 5:00 p.m.

Northwood Temple Academy will head into Tuesday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 66-27 loss at the hands of Trinity Christian. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-9.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The O'Neal School). They blew past Village Christian Academy 68-14 on Thursday. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

The O'Neal School's win came from a few key players Northwood Temple Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Judah Sibley, who went 9 of 13 on her way to 24 points along with seven boards and five steals. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joelle Cole, who went 9 of 14 en route to 20 points and eight steals.

The O'Neal School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests.

Northwood Temple Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for The O'Neal School, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Northwood Temple Academy took a serious blow against The O'Neal School in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 61-17. Can Northwood Temple Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
