Volleyball Recap: Hutto Comes Up Short

Hutto suffered their biggest defeat since August 12th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Vista Ridge Rangers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hippos of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Hutto was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Vista Ridge's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-12, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Hutto saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Teagan Coombs had 13 digs.

Hutto now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Vista Ridge, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Hutto has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Judson on the 21st. As for Vista Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Wakeland on the 21st.
