Baseball Recap: Starmont Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Starmont had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Alburnett Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Stars have posted since June 6th.

Starmont pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Alburnett, they moved to 16-11 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Starmont will face off against North Fayette Valley on Saturday. As for Alburnett, they will head out to face off against Jesup at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The J-Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.42 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
