Football Recap: Marriotts Ridge Takes a Loss

Marriotts Ridge played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Glenelg Gladiators 42-14. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Gladiators recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jailen Johnson and Russell McIntyre. Johnson rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries while McIntyre rushed for 112 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries.

Marriotts Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Glenelg, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Marriotts Ridge will host Reservoir at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the 'Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Glenelg, they will take on Oakland Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Gladiators 10.8, the Scorpions 7.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
