Basketball Game Preview: Boyd Yellowjackets vs. Seminole Indians

The Boyd Yellowjackets will square off against the Seminole Indians at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Boyd turned things around against Westlake Academy on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Blacksmiths 77-31. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-18.

Boyd's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Myles Richardson, who posted 18 points. With that strong performance, Richardson is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Spencer Harrison, who earned 15 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seminole). They enjoyed a cozy 72-56 win over Slaton on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 736th, while the Tigers are ranked 233rd).

Boyd's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Seminole, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
