Baseball Game Preview: Schaumburg Saxons vs. Conant Cougars

Schaumburg is 2-8 against Conant since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Saxons will head out to square off against the Cougars at 4:45 p.m. Neither Schaumburg nor Conant posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Schaumburg is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to Wheeling. The shutout was out of character for the Saxons seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Meanwhile, Conant came up short against Elk Grove on Tuesday and fell 6-2.

Conant saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arjun Patel, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Conant has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12-1 record this season. As for Schaumburg, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Schaumburg couldn't quite finish off Conant in their previous matchup on Monday and fell 4-2. Can the Saxons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
