Basketball Recap: Bayfield Comes Up Short

Bayfield came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Turtle Lake Lakers, falling 65-13. The Trollers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-5.

Turtle Lake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexi Tarman out in front who went 9-for-14 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Tarman is becoming a predictor of the Lakers' success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 8-13 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Grace Hubbard, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Bayfield has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Turtle Lake, they pushed their record up to 12-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Bayfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Turtle Lake has already played their next game (against Northwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
