Softball Recap: Deshler's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Deshler had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Colbert Heights Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Havah Standridge, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Millie Ann Terry also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Deshler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colbert Heights only posted an OBP of .095.

Deshler's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Colbert Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Deshler Tigers face off against Brooks Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colbert Heights, they will venture away from home to face off against Collinwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
