Shepherd had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by  a  12-1 margin over the St. Ignatius/Charlo/Arlee Bulldogs on Thursday. The  win was just business as usual for the Mustangs, who after 22 games remain undefeated  this season.
 Brooke Werth and  Breelyn Fulton did most of the damage at the plate:  Werth  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and four  RBI, while  Fulton  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Those  four  RBI gave  Werth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Krista Dunn, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Shepherd was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .485. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .310 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Shepherd pushed their record up to 22-0 with the  victory, which was their tenth straight  on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.7 runs thus far. As for St. Ignatius/Charlo/Arlee,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-2.
 Shepherd wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  9-1  win against Manhattan on the 23rd. St. Ignatius/Charlo/Arlee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
