Basketball Game Preview: Geneva Eagles vs. Kirtland Hornets

The Geneva Eagles will challenge the Kirtland Hornets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Geneva is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Geneva is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Geneva lost 48-25 to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. The Eagles were down 42-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Kirtland came up short against Crestwood on Wednesday and fell 56-43. The Hornets have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Kirtland's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Geneva, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Geneva beat Kirtland 52-43 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Does Geneva have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kirtland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
