Tynen Greer and DJ Payne provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Moon Area. The connection went for 73 yards, the longest such play in WPIAL AAA Parkway this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, West Allegheny beat Chartiers Valley 49-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Greer threw for 172 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 10-16 with 1 interception.
Payne was the best wideout in the league this week as Montour fell to the Tigers. Payne tallied 3 receptions for 119 yards. Tyler Carswell helped Montour's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Julian Cox of New Castle is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,381. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Payne. The Montour star has 23 catches for 509 yards.
Blackhawk moved up to 208 from 240 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in WPIAL AAA Parkway. The Cougars were able to move up by topping Ambridge 34-14.
