Softball Recap: Whitehouse Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Whitehouse had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Lovejoy Leopards on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since February 24, 2024.

Taylor Morris spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Analee Becerra was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kyndal Morris, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Whitehouse lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.

Whitehouse's win bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Lovejoy, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

Whitehouse will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Leopards: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
