Softball Recap: Simley Comes Up Short

Simley extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-6. They lost 18-11 to the Two Rivers Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 16th.

As for Two Rivers, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Two Rivers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Two Rivers' part, they got a massive performance out of Erica Eckman, who went 5-for-6 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Eckman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelie Williams, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Simley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Two Rivers, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-8 win against Coon Rapids on the 13th.
