Softball Recap: St. John's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. John can now relate to. They fell just short of the Opelousas Catholic Vikings by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Vikings' pitchers proved too tough.

St. John moved to 25-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Opelousas Catholic, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-10.

While St. John had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
