Volleyball Recap: Daniel Beats Powdersville for Their Fifth Straight Win

Daniel hadn't done well against Powdersville recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Patriots. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won five contests in a row.

Zara Russell paced Daniel's offense, picking up ten kills. Russell got some help from Lydia Chasteen and her 13 assists. Russell was also a major player on defense: she and Michaela Reed shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Daniel's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Powdersville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Daniel will head out to take on Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Powdersville, they will be playing at home against Palmetto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
