Softball Recap: Chaska Takes a Loss

Chaska was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the St. Louis Park Orioles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Noelle Stein was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Laney Farm was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Chaska's record is now 1-4. As for St. Louis Park, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaska will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Louis Park, they will head out to take on Orono at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
