Volleyball Recap: Huntley Red Raiders vs. Guilford Vikings
Huntley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Guilford Vikings by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Red Raiders as they're now sitting on six straight.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16.
Georgia Watson paced Huntley's offense, picking up eight kills. Watson got some help from
Emily Ernst and her 13 assists. Watson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Huntley is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 29-8 record this season. As for Guilford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-16.
Huntley will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Mundelein at 6:00 p.m. Mundelein will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Huntley surely won't give up without a fight. Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
