Baseball Recap: Dekalb Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times DeKalb and Waubonsie Valley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Barbs came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-10 on Monday.

DeKalb's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Latimer, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

DeKalb's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Waubonsie Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

DeKalb will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
