Football Game Preview: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. Trivium Prep Crimson Knights

Two dominant backs in Aaron Whitten and William Kelley are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Phoenix Christian Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trivium Prep Crimson Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Phoenix Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Friday, Phoenix Christian got the win against Santa Cruz Valley by a conclusive 34-14. The 34-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Phoenix Christian had a senior duo take command as Kevin Palafox rushed for 94 yards and one score on only seven carries and Z'Yeon Rondan rushed for 88 yards and one TD. Rondan also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Cashis Grimwade also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matchups, Trivium Prep finally came back down to earth last Thursday. They had to suffer through a 38-0 loss at the hands of Tanque Verde. The loss was the Crimson Knights' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Trivium Prep fell to 4-1. As for Phoenix Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
