Softball Recap: Bourgade Catholic Find Success

While Bourgade Catholic's win against Northwest Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-15 victory over the Crusaders on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won four in a row.

Bourgade Catholic let Brianna Torres and Esther Quezada run wild. Torres went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple, while Quezada went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those four RBI gave Torres a new career-high. Samantha Santillan was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Bourgade Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Bourgade Catholic's record now sits at 19-7. As for Northwest Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.
