King Academy extended the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week by beating Pee Dee Academy, 44-8. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Greenwood Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Noah Hinzman threw for 12 yards and Austin Sears had nine yards receiving. On the ground Joseph Hubbard chipped in 176 yards. Cade Abrams helped Greenwood Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
King Academy's Alex Berry and Cheyenne Bodie have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Berry has thrown for 1131 yards this season, while Bodie, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 17 catches for 416 yards. The Hawks' Hubbard leads the league in rushing yards with 1091.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Jolly Doolittle's team and Carolina Academy. The Knights enters the contest ranked fourth in the state, while the Bobcats ranks second.
Two of the top units in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) will face off this week when King Academy takes on Carolina Academy. The Knights' offense has recorded 450 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Bobcats have permitted only 68 on the year.
Wardlaw Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Cathedral Academy.
