Softball Game Preview: Seattle Prep Panthers vs. Ballard Beavers

Seattle Prep is 2-8 against Ballard since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Beavers at 4:00 p.m. Seattle Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Ballard will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Seattle Prep turned things around against Holy Names Academy two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over Holy Names Academy. The matchup marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Ballard fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Stanwood on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Beavers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Colette Howren spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks.

Seattle Prep's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Ballard, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.
