Minford hadn't done well against Portsmouth West recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Senators. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Senators, too.

Minford walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-11, 10-25, 25-23, 26-24.

Kerigan Davis paced Minford's offense, picking up 15 kills. Davis got some help from Savanna Barker and her 27 assists. Barker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Minford's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-6. As for Portsmouth West, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9.

Minford has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against South Webster on the 25th. As for Portsmouth West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Wheelersburg on the 25th.
