Football Recap: South Sumter Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Sumter can now relate to. They were beaten by the Eastside Rams 42-15 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Raiders have suffered since September 6, 2024.

Milo Patterson threw for 219 yards and one touchdown. Kobe Bailey was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards.

Eastside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Javaris Gardner out in front who rushed for 164 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Gardner has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Nelson Tambling, who threw for 116 yards and two TDs.

South Sumter has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Eastside, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

South Sumter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastside, they will challenge Bishop Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
